This week's grandma.
Okay it's not that bad. It's just odd. Last week I was out and having fun with the boys. This week I am at home making sleepy tea and stressing out because I should really have already been asleep by now. On a Friday. Dude. What a difference a week makes. Gotta love the J.O.B yo. Anyhoo, water is boiled. BRB. Okay. So while that steeps I should like blog about something... Hrm. Actually I need to fold laundry. The buzzer just went off. BRB.
Okay. Back. What did I miss? Oh! I was going to blog something. Right. Well, I have to say it's been a slow week. Work has been good. Really good in fact. Except for that part that I have to keep going back day after day. Heh. And.. Wow. That's all I have going on right now. Mmm, tea is ready... I do have a work story I could share. You see, I was at work the other day (duh) and there was this woman I was helping with some question about underwear. Her kids (all three of them) were in an uproar behind me as we spoke. She was getting visibly irritated and finally said to me "Will you please tell my kids to stop running around?!" It was spoken like a demand. Like it was my job. "Excuse me?" I said, "I am not the parent in the situation. I will not be disciplining your children!" I mean can you even? She went on how she was the parent, "I just need you to..." I cut her off, still declining. So then she turns to her brats and shouts "See? He said you have to stop t!
hat right now!" Now I was annoyed. I turned to the kids and said "I did NOT!" Srsly. What is wrong with parents nowadays?? *sips tea dramatically*
Okay. Happy weekend.

So I just have to tell you about this... I think it is so amazingly cool! One of my humble photos from my Flickr has been selected, and made it to the final selection phase of being included in the Schmap!
Schmaps series of digital travel guides integrates dynamic maps with useful background reading, suggested tours, photos from the traveling public and reviews by local correspondents (for sights and attractions, hotels, restaurants, bars, parks, theaters, galleries, museums and more) to profile 200 destinations throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Now keep in mind, I am no photographer. In fact I hesitate to mention what I used to even capture the selected photo. I don't want them to see this post and decide I am unworthy. I mean really. Heh. Anyway. I have no high hopes of being selected over the real photographers and serious hobbyists of Flickr. Tis an honor to even be considered. I am thrilled beyond belief!
Oh, find my photo here.

We were shopping fools yesterday. And not the good kind of shopping. More like those errands that were put off because we were playing all weekend. Although we did make the mistake of setting foot into Ikea and left with a houseplant, festive napkins, 2 enormous fake sunflowers, and the tea light candles we went in for. LOL, right? After that we did penance at Target. You know, all those things we go to Target for... Oh, and Richard found some furniture he'd like to put outside on the patio to replace our lawn chairs! Sadly, due to Target's not wanting to sell 'floor models' we weren't able to procure said outdoor furniture. Richard did however collect everyone's name and plans to contact the DM. Exciting! Then it was off to the Ralph's for some much needed foodstuff. We work the next 6 days straight and no one wants to be running off to the grocery...
After all the excitement, and looking ahead at a very busy work-weekend I decided we should forgo the Blogger Meetup. It would have been fun to go, but I really needed a quiet night in. Besides the huge Tweet-Up is just around the corner. We won't be missing that one.
All in all it was a good day off. But ow, my wallet! Still sore! Heh!

I just read a phrase that made me want to gouge out my own eyes and set myself on fire. A phrase that made my stomach turn. I can't. Even. Think. About. It.
*shudder*

Urban Mo's was a blast last night. This photo was one of only three that I took, but it has Trixie and I love her. I always end up wishing I brought the actual camera! But then who wants to be that guy chasing people with a camera all night when you've only just met? Right? So a few iPhone photos are all I got.
So anyhoo, @gooster, @wesstone, @slickdome, @richardallen, @jeffred, @tenthmuse, @mikeynerd, and me @danielphillip were in attendance. And Mo's was packed. Packed, I tell you! I was poked, prodded, and groped in places not normally groped.. Hellooo! The heat was pretty intense too. All that aside I think a crowd is a good venue to meet new people tho, in case you don't hit it off and you want to slip away... It could happen! What a great time tho! We all seemed to play nicely together, although it did get a bit wild towards the end. I danced I twirled and posed like a freak to Miley IN PUBLIC! OMG. LOL. And one of my "apple martinis" was basically a glass of vodka. Cuh-ra-zy! Nothing like booze to make meeting new people less stressful... Kidding! Kinda.
Most importantly I think we made a few new friends, and that was the whole point, right?
